Sol, for short

Welcome to my page! This is the character I use to represent myself, my persona: Sol!

Who is Sol ?

Sol is a blank canvas character that I can throw around in situations where I need to be represented. He's a small gothy boy with long black hair. He's a free spirit and he's quite obsessed with fire. He likes to braid his hair, and to paint his nails, and sometimes do make-up. He likes to wear chokers, mittens and fat boots. He loves dark themed things in general, and his favorite color is red. In modern settings, he's a real IT nerd with a thing for retro stuff.

Coming up with Sol

I've always wanted a persona in my life, for as long as I can remember, but I really struggled with the doing. I've came up with Sol's design in 2025 after starting all over again with a fresh idea. I've always wanted my persona to be a paladin, the perfect hero, but I never succeeded, as it was impossible to nail, and to be frank, the idea was quite boring.

In 2025, I finally started exploring ideas with a more open mind and the idea of a coding/programming influenced magic system. It resulted that VOID would be the base of it all, and magic override this value to exist. But what would happen if someone was able to cast magic, without being able to override it ? This is the idea that I started to explore : a hero-wannabe, forced to use a cursed and dark magic. A failed hero who would have to evolve his broken magic into one worthy of the knight he wants to become.

Having a way less heroic base allowed me to explore vastly darker themes and designs. His former brown hair and orange eyes were changed for deep dark hair, and red mischievious eyes. I've made a prototype for his design, and quickly redesigned it after a few months to harmonize his colors better, getting rid of the odd blue highlights and replace it with red, to match his eyes. Red is my favorite color, and I just love the "red on black" palette. I've also made his hair longer, as his hairstyle needed to be fixed, and mine had grew quite a lot in the meantime, lol.

All the ideas that I had for the paladin persona would be kept for his older self, as he evolves away from the dark magic arts. After a while, he finally understands how to turn his void into fire magic. "My persona" references this early-years version of him, because it's more of an open-end character, and he simply visually looks more like me (at the time being).

I believe that in the end, he'll understand how to turn fire magic into radiant magic, and finally become the hero that he (I) always wanted (him) to be. But that's a whole other story, that I explore with who he is in the Oridia canon !
